THREAD OF TIME
This new recording by the best-selling Taliesin Orchestra offers the very best of New Age artist Enya’s most popular songs with refreshing reinterpretations as conducted by producer Trammell Starks. Aside from standard instrumentation like bass, guitar and drums, The Taliesin Orchestra uses a wide range of instruments to round out the orchestra, often featuring up to as many as 18 violins, nine cellists and three contrabassists who play alongside a host of other classical, folk and Celtic instruments (banjo, French horns, harp, mandolin, Illiean Pipes, to name a few).
New Age music sales in 2001 were up 83.2% over 2000, lead by the multi-platinum success of Enya’s 2001 album, A DAY WITHOUT RAIN. Her hit single, "Only Time," struck a chord with millions in the aftermath of the events of September 11th, charting top ten in 21 countries. The Taliesin Orchestra revisits this global phenomenon on THREAD OF TIME with a dynamic, creative new arrangement; also included are "Aniron (Theme For Aragorn and Arwen)" and the Oscar-nominated "May It Be," two selections from the LORD OF THE RINGS soundtrack.

TALIESIN ORCHESTRA
The Taliesin Orchestra is a consistent hit with worldwide music fans as well as the entertainment industry. Having released five albums since 1996, The Taliesin Orchestra has accomplished an almost miraculous melding of the new age audience with classical music lovers on critically-acclaimed albums like its debut, ORINOCO FLOW: The Music of Enya; 1997’s FORBIDDEN FOREST: The Music of George Winston; ANTHEM, a 1997 homage to rock’s greatist legends, and 1998’s MAIDENS OF MYSTERY. This year’s THREAD OF TIME is The Taliesin Orchestra’s fifth release. Named after a renowned 11th century Celtic poet, The Taliesin Orchestra is the creation of producer, arranger and keyboardist Trammell Starks, who comes up with the concept for each project and brings together all of the musicians, including THREAD OF TIME’s featured vocalist, Felicia Sorensen.

TRAMMELL STARKS OF THE TALIESIN ORCHESTRA
From his boyhood in the town of Dalton, Georgia, and studies at West Georgia College, Starks has always been reaching for new knowledge, experiences, and sounds. Starks' early influences included British progressive rockers Pink Floyd, Genesis, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Later, Starks was captivated by the experimental Jazz sound championed by the German label ECM, and by innovative Jazz artists including Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Joe Zawinul and Chick Corea. In the early 80's, Starks became a sought-after studio and touring keyboardist, accompanying R&B artists Peabo Bryson, Roberta Flack, Jennifer Holliday, and Patti Labelle. Starks' next move was to a position as Senior Vice President of A & R and resident producer at Atlanta-based Intersound (now called Platinum). During his 9-year tenure at Intersound/Platinum, Starks produced or supervised over 150 releases, including works by the San Diego Symphony, the Mexico City Philharmonic, and rock group Kansas with the London Symphony Orchestra.
Starks' trademark is creating a diverse fusion of musical elements. While at Intersound, he created and was music director of the well-known Classical Crossover group, The Taliesin Orchestra. The Taliesin Orchestra combined classical themes with new technologies and sounds in its chart-topping debut release ORINOCO FLOW. Other acclaimed releases by The Taliesin Orchestra include FORBIDDEN FOREST, ANTHEM and MAIDENS OF MYSTERY.

FELICIA SORENSON, GUEST VOCALIST ON THREAD OF TIME
Sorensen’s accomplishments as a vocalist are far reaching and of unusual depth. She has performed as a soloist and back up singer in a broad spectrum of singing environments. Sorensen is noted as a very polished, efficient vocalist who’s sensitive interpretation and precise, disciplined skills have earned her the position of first call vocalist for many studios and producers in the United States. She has worked extensively on national network and promotional jingles for ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and FOX. Other network vocal credits include the made for TV movies "Young Hercules," "Hercules," and "Heaven Sent." Her film credits include the Warner Brothers animated feature "Scarecrow," "Army Of Darkness," "Savage Lands," "Behind The Waterfall," "Man In the Iron Mask," and "Meet Joe Black." Most recently, Felicia was featured on the theatrical trailer for "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon."
